Annie Mac crowned him as the man who has “Single handedly” bought back UK Garage. Mike Delinquent Project (formerly of Delinquent) is back, and at his best yet. Following the success of his chart topping remixes with Pixie Lott on her UK No 1 song “All About Tonight” and the equally successful Wretch 32 track “Traktor”, Mike Delinquent Project looks set to take the charts by storm again.
Mike teams up with KCAT (“My Destiny”) to deliver the garage smash of the year, “Out Of Control”. Donae’o heard the track and simply had to throw down his own verse.
The song has already received fantastic support on radio where it’s currently playlisted on Kiss, and on the A-List on 1Xtra. Radio 1, Choice FM and Capital Radio have also been backing the song, with the likes of MistaJam, Annie Mac, Annie Nightingale, DJ Target, DJ Cameo, DJ Q, DJ EZ, and Sacha Brooks, to name a few, championing the record. It has so far been ‘Jam Hot‘, ‘Best of British’ and ‘Shut Up & Listen’ track of the week on 1xtra, as well as being A-Listed on Manchester’s Unity Radio.
“Out Of Control” was also used as the official sound bed for ‘1xtra in Majorca’, a campaign featured heavily on Radio 1 shows such as Chris Moyles’ Breakfast Show and Scott Mills’ Drive Time Show. This was definitely the summer anthem across all the party islands.
Even Manchester United footballer Rio Ferdinand couldn’t help but talk about the record, tweeting on a Friday morning about “Out Of Control” being his “Track of the Day”. A great feat for Mike Delinquent, even if he is a dedicated Arsenal fan!
It’s definitely exciting times for both Mike Delinquent Project and KCAT. Mike has recently signed an album deal with Champion Records as well as working with KCAT on her solo project. This is very much the start of great things to come from this talented young Musician from London.
You can now get our brand new remixes of the Champagne classic “My Love Is Right” from all top digital stores.
Remixes come from Calvertron and The Sharp Boys, plus we’ve also included a brand new remastered version of the original 12″ mix!
We’ve had huge support on this one from Axwell, Stonebridge, Hot Pink Delorean, The Squatters, DJ Pioneer, Cicada, Black Noise, The Loose Cannons, Aniki, DJ EZ, and many more!
Seconds out! Round 3! The third instalment of our Battle Of The Remixers series comes in the form of a lost gem from our archive – Champagne’s ‘My Love Is Right’, which was a huge hit in Europe especially.
Featuring the vocal talents of Shana Douglas, ‘My Love Is Right’ is pure late-eighties pop funk, and ripe for a 2011 rework!
The Sharp Boys have been in the business for years, and even have a history of working with us deep in our back catalogue. We knew they would pull off the perfect mix of this piano / vocal classic, and they did not disappoint. Their remix takes the track into skankin’, bouncy tech-house territory, the sort of tune that would not be out of place in a Fatboy Slim set. We loved it so much we had to include it on our recent Ibiza 2011 compilation!
Calvertron returns for another bout, taking a break from his recent journey into dubstep to deliver a knockout blow with an energy-packed dirty electro-fidget remix. We’re big fans of Calvertron at Champion towers, and we love what he’s done here!
Star Wars, Back To The Future, Lord Of The Rings – all the best things come in threes. Champion is proud to present the third in a run of releases from the boys that put the P in party – The Squatters!
The Squatters are fast rising through the ranks of DJ stardom. Currently enjoying their residency at Judge Jules’ Judgement Sundays events in Ibiza and at home, as well as a string of other bookings worldwide, Alex and Oli have even found time to get in the studio and producing some of the freshest dance anthems around.
‘Higher’ sticks firmly to their signature sound with stomping 4×4 beats and drops to a rave-influenced riff before building to a bleepy, slidy crescendo, accompanied by an all important vocal tag. We’ve seen this one do damage on an unsuspecting dancefloor and it does NOT disappoint!
On remix duties we’ve drafted in another duo who’ve been enjoying a steady rise throughout the last twelve months and more – the men behind Stamp Beats, and countless remixes including the likes of Skepta, Roisin Murphy, DJ Zinc and more – HeavyFeet! The boys bring in a bouncy skippy house beat to accompany the original main riff before dropping into some 80’s style kicks and snares and slipping in a piano line to boot. One for the golden isle dancefloors right here, in fact so much so we’ve also included this on our Ibiza 2011 compilation!
To finish, we’ve got newcomers Flask on dubstep remix duties. We knew that the big riff in the original virtually demanded a dubstep version, and this one does the business! Low end frequencies and coursing, piercing beats make this a must have weapon in your dubstep arsenal!
DJ Support from Rob Tissera, Hot Pink Delorean, Stonebridge, Plump DJs, Moto Blanco, Aniki, David Jones, Akira Kiteshi, DJ EZ, Dooze Jackers, Calvertron, Kelevra, and many more!
We’ve also received massive radio Support from Kissy Sellout on his BBC Radio 1 show.
Our absolutely huge Ibiza 2011 Selection compilation is out now on general release at all good digital stores. You can get it now from the following stores and more:
