Mad House One of the best garage producers and remixers during the 1990s was Kerri “Kaoz 6:23″ Chandler, a native of garage-central New Jersey and a DJ by the time he was nine years old. Influenced by his father (also a mixer in his own time), Chandler also began producing tracks by the time he was 15, with help from fellow Jersey-ites like Tony Humphries and Michael Watford. His tracks for King St., Strictly Rhythm, Large, Nervous and his own Madhouse Records made him one of the top producers in the garage scene by the early ’90s, with a discography including club landmarks like “(You’re My) Inspiration,” “Hallelujah” and “Stompin’ Grounds” as well as more introspective, jazzy works like 1993’s The Atmosphere EP [Shelter records]. Chandler’s first LP was 1992 “Red Light,A Basement and a Feeling followed by Kaoz on King St in 1997., followed later that year by a similarly titled mix album, Kaoz on King St.: Mix the Vibe. 2002 saw the release of 10 years of Madhouse and Red light Basement and a Feeling 2. He has also recorded under aliases such as K.C.Y.C., Grampa [Movin records ] and Kamar, and worked on remixes for Byron Stingily, Kristine W., Ten City, Robin S. and Martha Wash.
