Next release – Sound Of The City!
For our next release we’ve signed up not only the writing and production talents of White Knights, but the vocal talents of the legendary Kathy Brown!
We first came across this one when we heard an awesome remix of the tune by Heaven, Trade and Fabric regular Pagano. Once we heard his reworkings of this track, perfectly complementing Kathy’s vocals, we knew we couldn’t let this one pass us by!
Sound Of The City was written when choreographer/TV personality Jason Gardiner moved to Soho and heard the buzzing nightlife fill his apartment, inspiring him to write what is now fast becoming this year’s summer tune. After playing it to his writing partner, DJ and producer Nick Tcherniak, and after teaming up with legendary vocalist Kathy Brown (‘Joy’, ‘Turn Me Out’, ‘Strings Of Life’ to name but a few) the icing was on the cake, bringing this homage to a thriving metropolis with all it’s energy and nightlife well and truly to life!
Backing up the Pagano mixes, are a variety of new mixes commissioned by Champion, courtesy of Dogmatix (fresh from remixing the forthcoming Armand Van Helden single), Mark Simmons (of Simmons & Christopher fame) and Soulshaker (who’ve worked with everyone from Chaka Khan to Crystal Waters, and who turned in excellent mixes on Robin S ‘Show Me Love’ and De’lacy ‘Bodyswerve’), as well as the original Vocal Mix, and White Knights own Deep Dub.
Sound Of The City has peaked at number 6 in the Upfront Club Chart and is going down a storm in the clubs. Check out audio clips of some of the remixes that are causing dancefloor destruction here:
